"You know, the brain can't take the word 'no' in. That's why when parents tell kids to 'Don't throw it,' kids would eventually throw it anyway. Instead, you can just say something like 'Hey can I have it?' it's weird but whenever you say no, the brain omits the word out and starts to think the action after the word 'no'.
Let's do something. Don't think of the pink elephant. Don't think of the pink trunk it has. Don't think of the pink flappy wings. You're thinking of the pink elephant don't you? I mean, you probably try to think of other things but the pink elephant comes back every now and then.
Now do this. Think of a dog. Think of a cat. Think of a bird.
The pink elephant is not there, is it?"
